During James' years as a prosecutor (2005-2008) he prosecuted individuals accused of crimes in Miami-Dade County. Following one hard fought jury trial, with no eyewitnesses, James got a conviction in a murder case previously featured in ‘The First 48’ episode ‘House of Blood/Last Man Standing.’ In 2008, Mr. DeMiles began private practice as a criminal defense attorney. James DeMiles successfully obtained dozens of acquittals following jury trials, including murder, rape, robbery, and other complex, serious felony charges. A number of James' cases have been featured in local and even national news reports. In 2016, Mr. DeMiles joined a boutique plaintiffs law firm as the in-house litigator, litigating serious and complex matters, and he assisted clients in recovering hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal injury and homeowner insurance cases. In 2018 James DeMiles became the founding attorney in DeMiles Law, bringing years of litigation and trial experience in both a criminal and civil setting to a boutique litigation practice.
